Your power bill appears to

Your power bill appears to be very high compared to ours - can we ask how many in your house hold. There is only the two of us at home now and we are moaning because our power bill is now over $100 per month it was down around $70 per month some time ago and we are not using any more power - if we look on the back of our power bill our daily use of power has remained the same. We have done the same as you added insulation all around our house and so on but we can not reduce our power bill. In the winter we use wood logs in a modern efficent fire place so our power bill is the same summer and winter. Some years ago one thing that did reduce our power bill was to keep an eye on the amount of water we boil each time for a cuppa we cut it down to the minimum and this cut back our power usage. can not give any real help Cheers

I appreciate the above

I appreciate the above comment was posted 7 September last year, however, I would still like to briefly describe my experience with the newest power supplier on the market. I live alone, I don't use the oven much at all, I very rarely use the clothes dryer, I have a 'water saving' dishwasher and so forth... Yet my power bill was regularly in the $150.00-$180.00 range. Very scarey. I changed to Powershop on the basis that it couldn't be much worse at best and even a little saved per year was worth the effort. I have been wonderfully, fantastically surprised. In the three full months since I joined I have saved on average $70 a month, have picked up on some amazing 'specials', have 'met' some fantastic people in Customer Service who DO get back to you, who DO answer the phone, who DO what they say they are going to when they say they will. On top of all this, of course, I still get my $320 refund each year which takes a further $26.70 off my monthly power account! To say I am delighted is absolutely understating the case. Please DO consider this option... www.powershop.co.nz - and NO I don't work for the company!!! And NO they aren't paying me to say this!! Good luck!!

i HAVE ASKED MY ELECTRICITY

i HAVE ASKED MY ELECTRICITY COMPANY, GENESIS, IF THE INCREASE IN MY POWER BILL IS DUE TO THE CEOS AND BOARD GETTING BONUSES. THEY NEVER REPLIED. I HAVE ASKED TWICE!! don

My power account hit $500 a

My power account hit $500 a month in winter. We have done everything right: switched to the cheapest company, insulated, bought a heat pump and cut back. I don't know what we'll do if prices go up again.
